City of Poway Parks:

There are two major parks in the City of Poway for family parties and company picnics and they are the  Lake Poway Recreation Area and the Poway Community Park. 

Reservations:  A permit is required to reserve a space in the park and in general, the permit fee for family picnic is $10/hour for Residents and  $18/hour for Non-Residents. 


Located at 14644 Lake Poway Road, Poway, CA 92064 - the Lake Poway Park features a variety of recreational opportunities (volleyball, horseshoes, playgrounds, trails, fishing, boating, etc). Also, within the Recreation Area, there are 8 picnic areas with tables and barbeques that can be reserved, and 5 of those that allow inflatable jump houses with prior permit.  Click for a map of the Lake Poway Recreation Area that shows the location of the 8 picnic areas.  The areas that allow inflatable jump  houses are: #2, #3, #5, #16, and #17.  During the summer, they charge a $5 parking fee, although it may only be for non-residents.  For park reservations, call (858) 668-4580.

Poway Community Park

Located at 13094 Civic Center Drive, Poway, CA 92064 - The Poway Community Park features a Swim Center, Senior Center, Community Center, meeting rooms and auditorium facility for classes and rentals, skate park, tennis courts, dog park, ballfields, and is also part of the Poway Creek Trail.For information on reservable areas call (858) 668-4671.

City of San Marcos Parks:

 Picnic Table at Park for Party

The City of San Marcos manages numerous public  parks and facilities, with 5 that are able to be reserved for group functions such as private parties and/or company picnics.   The City of San Marcos does not allow any water-based items at the party (e.g. dunk tanks or water slides) and a prior reservation must be made to have an inflatable jump house.  The parks do not provide any electricity, thus the party host will need to have a generator if he/she wants to have a jump house.

Reservations:  Reservations need to be made at least 2 weeks in advance of the event date by contacting The City of San Marcos Community Services.  Reservation holders will be posted in the park facility on the day of the event so that the designated space is reserved. For additional information, call (760) 744-9000 Ext. 3515

Reservation Fees:  the reservation fees start at $50 for a minimum 2-hour period and then vary based on the number of people who will  be at the event and the duration of the event.

Vendors:  Any company supplying equipment or services at your event needs to be listed as an approved vendor by listing the City of San Marcos as additionally insured on their $1 million insurance policy. Bradley Park

Located at Rancho Santa Fe Road and Linda Vista Drive.  The 24-acre park features picnic areas, tot-lots, and artificial turf areas.


San Elijo Park

Located at 1105 Elfin Forest Road, at the corner of San Elijo Road.  The park features 3 lighted ball fields, 2 playgrounds, picnic areas, dog area, trails, horseshoe pits, and a recreation center.


Simmons Family Park

Located at 2180 Rocky Point Way.  The 6-acre park features scenic views, picnic areas, tot-lot play area, basketball court, and a trail staging area.


Walnut Grove Park & Barn

Located at 1950 Sycamore Drive,  at Olive and Sycamore Avenues off of Twin Oaks Valley Road.  The park features picnic shelters, 2 tot-lots, 2 horse arenas, a large grass open play area, and the historic Williams Barn for indoor events.


Woodland Park

Located at 671 Woodland Parkway at the corner of Woodland Parkway and Rock Springs Roads. The park features 11 acres for picnics, playground equipment, aquatic area with children's pool, historic Wood House, pond and fountains.

City of Santee Parks:

The City of Santee has specific rules that allow inflatable jumps, outdoor apparatuses and petting zoos in selected park areas by permit only. No ponies or other hoofed animals are allowed, except on the equestrian trails in Mast Park. Dunk tanks and water features are not allowed.  The largest size inflatable jump allowed is 15' x 15' and the permit fee to have an inflatable jump is $25.  If you want to reserve one of the gazebos at the various parks, there is an additional charge that varies by gazebo and park. The parks allow beer and wine, but do not allow any type of glass bottles. The select parks that allow private parties with inflatable jumps are:

West Hills Park

The 8.5 acre park is located at 8750 Mast Blvd. and accessed via SR 52 at the Mast Blvd exit and the intersection just north of Rumson Drive. The park is located directly west of West Hills High School and features: 4 Ball Fields (2 lit), 1 Soccer/Multipurpose Field, 1 Pre-school Playground, 1 Grade School Playground, 1 Sand Volleyball Court, 2 Horseshoe Pits, 1 Shade Structure, 5 Picnic Tables, and a Trail System. Inflatable jumps in this park require a generator.  


Woodglen Vista Park

Located at 10250 Woodglen Vista Drive, near Cajon Park Elementary School. To get there, take Magnolia Avenue to Woodglen Vista Drive, then go west one block. This 10-acre neighborhood park features: Picnic Tables, Barbecue Grills, Tennis Court, Children's Play Lots, Ball Field, Open Grass Area, Basketball Court, BMX/Skate Park, Shaded Picnic Pavilion, Restrooms, and Parking.  Inflatable jumps in this park do not require a generator as 110 volt power is available at the base of the post on the gazebo. 

Big Rock Park

Located at 8125 Arlette Street, adjacent to the Chet F. Harritt Elementary School in southwest Santee, sout of Mission Gorge Road, with access off Mesa Road or Arlette Street.  This 5-acre neighborhood park has a warm, intimate style and features:   Tennis Courts, 2 Horseshoe Pit, 1 Basketball Court, 2 Children's Play Lots, 14 Picnic Tables, 11 Barbecue Grills, 2 Restrooms, 1 Sand Volleyball Court, 1 Shaded Picnic Area, 1 Open Grass Area, 25 Parking Spaces, and an Activity Building.  Inflatable jumps in this park do not require a generator as 110 volt power is available at the base of the post on the gazebo. 


Shadow Hill Park

Located at 9163 Shadow Hill Drive, Shadow Hill Park is the newest of all the Santee Parks iwth over 5.62 aceas of park area. The park features:  a large grass play area, 2 Tennis Courts, Basketball Court, Picnic Area, Children's play area, Picnic Shelter, and a Walking path.  Inflatable jumps in this park do not require a generator as 110 volt power is available at the base of the post on the gazebo. 

Mast Park

Located at 9125 Carlton Hills Blvd, Mast Park is Santee's largest park with 26.5 developed acres, hugging the banks of the meandering San Diego River on the western border of Santee Town Center. To access the park, take Carlton Hills Boulevard to the parking area on the north rim of the river. The park features: 11 Picnic Tables, 9 Barbecue Grills, 1 Horse Trail, Children's Play Lot, 1 Shaded Picnic Area, 1 Walking/Biking Trail, 1 Multipurpose Court, 1 Exercise Course, 2 Restrooms, and Parking and Overflow Parking Spaces. Inflatable jumps at this park require a generator. 

Town Center Community Park

Located at 9545 Cuyamaca Street. This park includes the Aquatics Center, but the rest of the park facilities are still under construction with completion expected to be in 2009.
